This recipe makes about 25-30 chicken wings (flats/drums mixed).
Prep Time: 10 Minutes | Cook Time: 30 Minutes | Total Time: 40 Minutes
Ingredients:
Sauce **makes 25-30 wings (flats/drumettes mixed)
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Cup Bourbon
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
- 1 Tsp Gonflayed Steak Seasoning & Rub
- 8 Tbsp Salted Butter (1 Stick)
Wings
- 15 Whole Chicken Wings Or 30 Flats/Drums
- Gonflayed S.P.O.G. Seasoning & Rub
- 1 Tsp White Sesame Seeds (optional)
- 1 Tsp Chopped Chives (optional)
Instructions:
Wings
- Heat your pit or smoker to 375 degrees. While your pit heats up, prep your wings.
- If your wings are whole, you’ll want to cut them down into flats and drums.
- Season all sides of the wings generously with your favorite Gonflayed Seasoning & Rub. For this recipe, we like to use the Gonflayed S.P.O.G. Seasoning & Rub.
- Place the wings on the pit, close the pit, and let cook for 15 minutes. Do not open the pit.
- While the chicken is cooking, you can start making the sauce.
- After 15 minutes is up, flip the wings, close the pit, and let cook for another 15 minutes, and then remove from the pit.
- Put the wings in a large bowl or tupperware that has a lid. Pour the sauce over the wings and seal them shut with the lid. Shake well to get an even coat on all wings and then pour them out into a serving pan or tray of your choice.
- Sprinkle some white sesame seeds and chopped chives as a garnish (optional).
Sauce
- In a small-medium sauce pan or pot, combine the bourbon and brown sugar. Turn the burner on to medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stir occasionally.
- Lower the heat to low-medium and maintain a low bubble. Add the soy sauce, maple, and Gonflayed Steak Seasoning & Rub and stir in. (Optional: add a dash of cayenne to make it spicy)
- Let the sauce cook and reduce for 10 minutes, stir occasionally. Add the butter and remove from heat. Stir until butter is melted and mixed in.
Once complete, let cool and enjoy!!
